We believe real change often begins with one moment of support – one person reaching out, one connection made, one opportunity offered. Based in Aurora, Colorado, we are a growing nonprofit committed to helping individuals navigate recovery, homelessness, or reentry by connecting them to the resources they need to begin again.
Butterfly Effect Incorporation is a nonprofit based in Aurora, Colorado, supporting individuals affected by substance use, housing instability, and reentry challenges. Our mission is to connect people to safe, supportive recovery housing and offer guidance through what can be a complicated system.
Not yet. We don’t operate our own housing facilities but we partner with a wide range of sober living providers across Colorado. Based on your situation, we’ll help match you with a housing option that aligns with your needs and goals.
We want to make sure your housing placement is the right fit, not just the first available. After you fill out a short application or call us directly, we’ll begin a screening process within 24 hours. We consider things like your income, age, recovery goals, employment plans, and any other circumstances that might affect eligibility. Our goal is to place you somewhere that truly supports your next steps—not just fill a bed.
No. There is no cost to you for our placement services. In some cases, we are able to offer scholarship support for your first month of housing. Future costs are negotiated between you and the housing provider, and we’ll help ensure those costs are sustainable for your situation.
Please still reach out. We may have a provider in our network who can accommodate your needs, even if others have said no. Every situation is unique, and we’ll do our best to advocate for a solution that works.
We work with a variety of supportive housing and recovery residences that meet certain quality standards. Some facilities are more structured, while others offer more flexibility. Some may require residents to seek employment quickly, while others are suitable for those receiving disability income or with unique needs. We’ll help match you with a facility that fits.
Every provider is different. Some have specific age requirements, sobriety minimums, or rules about employment, criminal history, or mental health. That’s why we screen first, so we can guide you toward a housing option where you’re more likely to be accepted and supported.
Once you submit an application or contact us, we’ll respond within 24 hours to begin the screening process. From there, we work as quickly as possible to find the best fit, sometimes within a few days depending on availability and individual needs.
We’re actively building partnerships and expanding our services. You can support us by donating, sharing our mission, or connecting us with other organizations that care about recovery and housing. Visit our Support Us page for details.
It’s a reminder that small actions can lead to big changes. One moment of compassion, one opportunity, or one safe place to land can completely shift a person’s future—and that’s exactly what we aim to offer.
Your support helps us build partnerships, strengthen connections, and offer individuals a pathway to recovery and stability.
