Recovery takes time and financial setbacks shouldn’t stand in the way of staying housed. Butterfly Effect Incorporation offers limited financial assistance to help individuals in substance use recovery remain in, or transition into, supportive recovery housing when short-term support can make a meaningful difference.
Our assistance is designed to support people who are actively engaged in recovery and working toward stability, not to create dependency. The goal is to help bridge gaps during transitions so individuals can continue moving forward.
Financial assistance may be available to individuals who are participating in, or entering, substance use recovery housing and who are experiencing temporary financial challenges, including:
Individuals seeking placement in recovery housing
Assistance may help cover initial costs so entry into housing is not delayed due to short-term financial barriers.
Individuals who are employed but temporarily behind on housing costs
This includes people who can provide proof of employment but are experiencing delays in pay due to onboarding periods, work schedules, or gaps between shifts.
Individuals who have taken a temporary leave of absence from work
Support may be available for those who can provide proof of employment but are unable to work for a short period due to injury, medical needs, or family circumstances.
Individuals preparing to begin college or vocational training
Assistance may be considered for those who can show proof of enrollment and upcoming financial aid, while awaiting the start of classes or disbursement of funds.
When funding is available, assistance may include:
Partial or full support for the first month of recovery housing
Short-term financial support to help prevent loss of housing
Bridge assistance during employment, medical, or educational transitions
